Well, there's now one item less on my random wishlist. ^_^ Got and mailed the money order for the "Avs Around Town" calendar today!
The person who helpd me was really nice. She noticed that I had a staff account and asked me about what I do. I hope I didn't misdirect her when I gave the street address of where I work (she wants to apply for a job there), because that'd be an awful way to repay a kindness. ^^;;
Chinese New Year is coming up, and I'm really excited! My suite is hosting a house event in res for Chinese New Year, and for my part I'm going to be making dan tat (is that really how it's spelled? it looks weird) and loh baak go, respectively, egg tarts and Chinese radish cakes. Hope I don't mess it up! I've never been much of a cook, but I think (hope) I can at least follow directions properly.
When I was getting stuff from home for the event, my parents really got into it too. They gave me a cd with Chinese New Year music, some New Year decorations, and even Chinese clothing to wear. ^_^ It's really going to be lots of fun, I think.
Speaking of Chinese New Year, did I ever post my Chinese New Year pic here? I don't think I did. Some of you might recognize it as the card I sent out for the calendar new year. I actually also entered it in an art/concept contest on the Tsunami Channel forum. It's kind of a cute pic, so feel free to check it out here. The colouring job isn't very good, but I'm still rather proud of the concept.
