I've done something slightly crazy again: I pre-ordered the limited edition Fullmetal Alchemist - Shanbara wo Iku Mono - The Movie dvd from CD Japan. Why is this crazy? Well, I have only watched about half of the first episode of the series!! Considering that the story is part of the "Hagaren saga" and is supposed to take place 2 years after the Elric brothers have been separated means that I really will have no idea what's going on in the movie unless I manage to watch all of the series up to that point before the dvd arrives!! Clearly this is not going to happen given that I don't even have time to watch the various series I have already purchased, and, furthermore, Funimation will have only released 7 discs (28 episodes) of the series by January!
So yes, I should really email CD Japan and request that they remove the Fullmetal Movie dvd from my order. What's keeping me from doing the logical thing, however, is the description of the limited edition features: "Limited edition includes three discs packed full of special features (making-of footage and more). Deluxe illustrated box includes two booklets. *The limited edition comes with English Subtitles." As you know by now, I am a total sucker for special features. The idea of missing out on the special 3-disc. 2-booklet Japanese release has me hesitating to do the prudent thing.
