Ghibli-mania!

I've been on a bit of a Miyazaki/Ghibli kick recently. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that Disney finally released the "Nausicaa: Valley of the Wind," "Porco Rosso," and "The Cat Returns" dvds last Tuesday (best deal so far: $24.99/ea at Zellers!). Naturally I bought all three, plus another three copies for gifts. =P

Anyway, I was looking at the list of Miyazaki, Studio Ghibli, and related films on Nausicaa.net and I got interested in some of the pre-Ghibli, non-Ghibli, and unlicensed works they had listed. Since then I've been bittorrenting like mad! ^_^ Here's my list of some of the more obscure works, and where you can find them:

- Future Boy Conan [pre-Ghibli TV series] (1978) *sub*
- World Masterpiece Theatre: Anne of Green Gables (Akage no Anne) [pre-Ghibli TV series] (1979) *sub*

Availabe at Anime Suki

- Assorted commercials *raw*
- Ghibli ga Ippai *raw* (incl. assorted posters)
- Sora Iro no Tane [TV spot] (1992)*raw*
- Nandarou [TV spot] (1992)*raw*
- On Your Mark [Chage & Aska music video] (1995)*raw*
- Ghiblies, ep. 1 & 2 [TV short] (2000) *sub*

Available at BoxTorrents.com as "Rare Ghibli Stuff"

- Ocean Waves (Kimi ga Kikoeru) [TV movie] (1993) *sub*

Available at BoxTorrents.com

There are, of course, still other works which I haven't yet found online that I'd really like to see--Isao TAKAHATA's c.1987 "Yanagawa Horiwari Monogatari" and Katsuya KONDOU's c.2000 "Umi no Ourora"--but I'm quite satisfied with what I've found so far. Plus there are still five more works to be released from the Disney-Tokuma deal: "Tonari no Yamada-kun" (My Neighbors the Yamadas), "Omohide Poro Poro" (Only Yesterday), "Tonari no Totoro" (My Neighbor Totoro), "Heisei Tanuki Gassen Pom Poko" ((Heisei-era Raccoon War) Pom Poko),and "Mimi wo Sumaseba" (Whisper of the Heart). And let's not forget "Howl's Moving Castle" (based on the book by Dianna Wynne Jones)!!!

Ah... Studio Ghibli is the best!
