Woohoo!!! My last day of full-time work for this year was today, so I now have almost one full week of true summer vacation!! Hooray!!
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate my job--for the most part I enjoy my coworkers, the pay is good, and I have quite a bit of scheduling flexibility--but it's nice to not have to leave the house at 6:30am and to return at 5:30pm every weekday. Plus, the timing couldn't be better with the World Cup of Hockey going into the elimination rounds!
I will miss being able to drop by the HHOF to visit Kevin and to browse through the Spirit of Hockey store practically everyday, though. And I'll also miss my downtime at the CBE place fountain.
Anyway, my coworkers were really sweet and they all pitched in to give me some money as a sort of farewll present. I say "sort of" because I haven't actually stopped working at the bank--I'm still going to be there part-time during the school year! But anyway, I really appreciated the thought (and the money of course--more hockey stuff for me!).
It's been five years since I started working at the bank, I think. Man, as much as I look forward to the end of work everyday and every summer, I can't imagine what it will be like when I actually stop working there for good.
