Once again U of T shut down today AFTER 5PM!!! Stupid university. It was snowing pretty hard by the time I finished class, so it was a real pain getting back home, especially with an accident on the Streetsville tracks (which is just one stop further than me). xP So much for getting a day off school.
Not only that, but U of T is completely retarded! They KNOW that students are going to want to know whether class is still running or not, but they don't even bother to update the weather update website saying that classes are scheduled to proceed as normal. My PROFESSOR even logged on around 5am to see if he had to come in and, like everyone else, all he got was the information from last night that evening classes were cancelled. And of course the phone number that they gave to call for updates was busy. U of T is stupid. Of course, why should they care about making the lives of their students even a little bit easier? They've already got our money. Yes, I am pretty jaded/cynical about U of T.
Anyway, on the lighter side, I got a couple of fairly interesting/amusing emails today. One requires a little bit of background information. My mom bought a couple of McDonald's hockey cards one night and Steph and I split them. In one of her packs she got an insert for a gold Kovalchuk (jersey) patch card, which is pretty cool seeing as they're quite rare. So a couple of nights ago she decided to put it up for auction on eBay, and she decided to use my account since we were thinking about accepting Paypal and her Paypal account isn't valid since she didn't update it after her credit card expired. Anyway, the starting price was $9.99 CDN, and currently it's around $120 CDN, which is pretty good. So the email I got today was from someone asking if we'd trade the card for a Private Stock Kovalchuk rookie card, book value $350. I don't know why I found it so amusing, but I did. Oh, and we rejected the offer.
The other email I got was from the Harvard Law school, which I apparently emailed asking for some information about my application. Of course, my question was: when did I apply for law school? Again, I probably shouldn't have been amused as I was, but then again, I've always had a weird sense of humour.
Oh, another random thing, our house is pretty cold, especially when I wake up inthe middle of the night or in the morning, so last night I slept with THREE blankets. Maybe it was overkill, considering that I also wore sweat pants instead of shorts, but it seems to have worked out just right since I woke up around 6:30am and I felt well rested. It probably also helped that I slept around 11 something, maybe just a bit before 12. I don't remember the last time I've slept so early! Guess it had to do with me killing the time waiting for my parents after work by doing homework, so I didn't have to do it late at night when I finally remembered it. =P
