Pre-Christmas Stuffing

Man oh man. It's a week before Christmas and already I can feel the need to invest in more pants with elastic waistbands!! Today I went the Hockey Hall of Fame with two friends, so we met up with three other friends who work downtown for lunch at a Chinese restaurant. Then, to commemorate Steph's last day in Ontario for the year (she's spending the rest of the break back home in Vancouver), we went out for dinner at Applebee's. Not only was the meal quite filling, but we also had dessert since we had coupons for free dessert (with purchase of an entreé) that we wanted to use before they expired at the end of the month. And before that even had time to settle in our stomachs, Steph and I went out for bubble tea with some friends!! Even though I only had a small slushie--less filling than bubble tea--it still made me really full! @_@ Crazy day of eating. I think I can live off the fat from today for the next week or so at least. =P

Apparently it's going to be even worse when I go to Vancouver. I've already been invited to "fat camp"--a sleepover where everyone just keeps on eating the most fattening food possible: fried chicken, ice cream, cookies, chips, etc. etc. And Steph's already planning lots of places to take me to eat. Not to mention, Steph's mom likes to cook for people, so... I've already been warned that I'm going to have to buy new pants after this trip!!!

Ah well, it's Christmas time, so I guess I should've expected all this anyway.

Oh, in other news, I also went out with some friends last night for drinks to celebrate Steph's last exam. Usually when I go to bars and stuff I just get a Sprite, but this time I decided I'd actually try a drink. Emily suggested a fuzzy navel, since Steph told her I wanted the least alcohol-tasting drink possible, and it was actually okay with me in terms of taste. After the first couple of sips I could feel myself turning red, however. ^^;; How embarrassing, and so typically Chinese! =P I could even feel my ears heating up! And my hand, which are usually ice cold, were toasty warm and quite red as well. It was pretty interesting considering that at the Christmas dinner at church on Saturday, I showed people my hands and they were kind of a purpley-blue colour and freezing cold--quite the contrast. So yes, now I know that my limit is probably just one drink, which is fine because I'm not all that fond of alcohol and I'd rather spend the money elsewhere anyway. Designated driver all the way!!
