It's only because of God's grace that today wasn't a totally horrible day. I got my grammar quiz from Monday's Japanese class, and last year I was pretty good at grammar, but this year I suck: I got 6.5/10. Thank goodness for my listening from yesterday I got 8/9, or I would've cried. Then, right after Japanese I had a mid-term in Japanese Poetry and Prose, which is worth 40% of my mark--40%!!! That was NOT a good experience. I don't think I sucked too badly in the first essay question, but I read the second one and I was totally unprepared for it. It wasn't that I neglected to study, I actually had studied about as much as could be reasonably expected for an essay exam, it was just that it was a question relating to something she had only briefly mentioned in class, so when I saw it, I panicked. Anyway, the short version of the story is that I walked out of there praying that I would at least pass the mid-term, and maybe, if I'm really lucky, even get a 60%, it was THAT BAD.
So yeah, I was pretty depressed coming out of there, but luckily things got better. I dropped by to see Anna and to get my parcel delivery notification, which I then brought to the post office to get my McFarlane NHL figures!!! I finally have my Nordiques Sakic (blue jersey), Canadien Roy, and series one (Avalanche) Forsberg!!! ^____^ How very exciting!
Then I went to the library to do my homework and managed to finish off my Japanese, or most of it, I think... I was falling asleep so I might've just circled the ones I didn't want to think about to leave for later. Anyway, I ended up falling asleep for about an hour after that in the library, and when I went down to my classroom, I found out that my night class was cancelled! So I got home three hours earlier than expected.
That's not all! When I got home, I had something from the Star waiting for me! You guessed it, my Tomas Kaberle 8x10!!! =D SO HAPPY! It's very pretty--well, actually, he's not, but the picture is a very good picture, in the technical sense. Now I just have to convince my father to frame it for me.... =P
Oh, and I'm also #2 in the hockey pool today!! What an abundance of blessings, huh?
Not only that, but yesterday was good, and I expect tomorrow to be good too. See, I wrote to FoodTV about buying the King of Iron Chef TTC ad posters because they're so cool (Godzilla themed!), and they replied that they weren't for sale, but if I sent my address, they'd see what they could do. So yesterday I picked up a package, and it was the Morimoto vs Sakai poster!! How awesome! I'm so thankful to the FoodTV people, it was really nice of them!
And tomorrow or Friday I'm expecting a special jersey....Yes, another one! =P Bet you'd be pretty surprised at what it is though: it's a Mogilny Canucks white skate jersey!! Now I have something to wear to the Edmonton-Vancouver game on Dec. 27th!
Geez, and how could I forget, on Monday I didn't have to work, so I got home early and found "Magic Boy", Peter Forsberg's biography waiting for me!!!
All in all, the great things that have happened this week are definitely outweighing that one really awful mid-term. Isn't God cool? It would've taken me a lot longer to get over the mid-term today if God hadn't blessed me so abundantly this week. ^_^
