This week I've already logged in four hours of overtime!! ^_^ It's great because overtime=more money!! Plus I prefer being busy to being bored. Although, I rather wish that my busyness was of a different sort. Sure we've got lots of month end stuff to do, but most of our work is coming from people messing up contracts, reports, etc. and us having to do them all over again.
For example, on Friday we got ~1200 contracts to send out with prospectus. By lunch time we had almost finished stapling all of them when our boss came out and told us to hold everything and to unstaple them all because there was a mistake on an internal code on the contract! It was extra frustrating because it was an internal code, meaning that probably none of the clients would even realize that there was a mistake on the contract anyway. So we spent the rest of Friday unstapling.
On Monday we got the corrected contracts so we had to staple them anew and send them out. Tuesday's overtime was just from working on month end reports basically. Today, we sent out a whole bunch of month end reports just before lunch, and then after lunch time our boss came out again and told us that there was a mistake and we'd have to resend all the reports, with a little note stating that they were revised copies. @_@ We didn't even have time to finish resending everything today.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that I'm getting more hours, but I've gotta say it's highly inefficient of the company to be forcing us to do things twice over because of stupid mistakes, and also a waste of paper.
Still, that money really is going to come in handy. =P I don't know if it's coincidence or a God thing that the month when I have an unusually large Visa bill is the month I also have an unusually large income. ^_^
