Well, I finally got a chance to finish off Fruits Basket, but I don't exactly know how I feel about it. The ending wasn't an awful non-ending, or just an awful ending period, but it wasn't a great one either. At the end I was still left vaguely unsatisfied. I wonder if I would have felt the same way if I hadn't bought the manga; I mean, having the manga means that I know exactly how much is left out of the series.
Anyway, another interesting thing about the final few episodes was the way in which the animation changed. All the faces looked a lot less "cutesy" and it seemed like there were more "artistic" shots. That was pretty cool. And I still love the music! If I wasn't flat broke right now I'd want to get the soundtrack! =P However, I'm still paying off my Anime North purchases, so that's definitely out of the question.
Geh. It feels very weird to be writing here right now. I've been posting regularly on my hockey blog in the past little while, so even though hockey's done until September, my mind is still in full hockey mode. ^^;;
So yeah. More anime related stuff...Well, I'm kind of frustrated with Diamond Distributors and/or .hack//SIGN. Even though Bandai announced a long time ago that all of the discs after the first would also be released as limited editions (with the soundtrack), for some reason Previews never updated their information. Since the person I usually buy from can only order from the Previews (she doesn't have other connections, I guess), she wasn't able to get the limited edition of the second disc for me. It's not her fault, but it's still an irritating situation. I mean, I saw the disc at Anime North, but I held off buying it because I thought I should buy it from her. Then she got the second disc in and forgot that I had asked for one, so I had to wait an extra two weeks to get mine. And after that wait I found out that it wasn't the edition I had asked for, so I felt like a jerk for getting her to order the disc for me and then not buying it, even though there really isn't any need to feel guilty since I DID say specifically that I only wanted the limited edition with the soundtrack. At least I was able to order the limited edition set from Comic Den, but it's not going to get in until NEXT Wednesday, so that's more waiting! Ah well, guess it's something of a blessing since it's not like I had the cash for it this week anyway. ^^;;
