New Favourite Store!!

I went shopping for the first time in ages, and had an overall very good time of it! First my mom and I hit Costco, where I bought some books: Timbit Nation: A Hitchhiker's View of Canada by John Stackhouse; and The Case for Faith by Lee Strobel. ^_^ I can't wait to get reading them! Although, I still haven't even finished the Case for Christ (the previous book by Strobel) so I should probably do that first. =P

After Costco we went to Square One, where I found my new favourite store!!! It's kind of ironic, if not unexpected, but that new favourite store is Men are from Mars!! That place is SO awesome!! As soon as I get my birthday/Chinese New Year money from my aunt, I'm buying that Colorado Stanley Cup statue thing!! And their signed framed photos are very reasonably priced. They had this really sweet Sakic one for only $200 something--it's good considering that a signed Forsberg photo alone, no frame, is $200 something from the official Avalanche online store. AND they had this signed Kaberle one for only like $170 and I REALLY REALLY want it!!!

Plus they had NHL blankets in bags (didn't I see those in the HHOF store before?), and I wanted to get the Avs one. Then there was this really cool NHL schedule watch! It's exactly what it sounds like! =P I think I "need" something like that because I always want to know what games are on, and it'd be so convenient to just check my watch rather than logging on and going to a site to find out! Man, that store is just too cool!! *sigh* Too bad I only found out about it after my birthday! =P Ah well, it's not like a lot of people give me gift certificates anyway. People tend to think that they're too boring, or too uncreative, so they don't really give me gift certificates, but quite frankly, I would LOVE to get gift certs from Men are from Mars, or the Spirit of Hockey (HHOF) store. ^_^ To me, gift certificates are a gift of the fun of shopping for stuff that you really want but might not buy on your own!

Heheh....I can't wait until I get paid!! =P My parents are probably going to regret mentioning the store to me, since I probably would've gone several more weeks, maybe even months without finding it on my own otherwise. ^_~

Oh, and I just got paid for my one day of work for my mom in April, which is good. I can't imagine going to an anime convention flat broke. @_@ I mean, I don't plan on buying much beyond the stuff I would normally buy anyway (and I'm probably going to buy it from the same person that I normally buy from too, if she managed to get a table), but I always like to have some money for the artist alley. ^_^ Yup, nothing I like better than supporting original creative works. I try to stay away from fanart, because it's kind of illegal to profit from characters for which you don't hold the copyright, but I bent my own rules a bit last year and bought a Kenshin print. ^^;; This year I think I'm going to have to be stricter with myself. Must have integrity--plus it'll save me money! =P
