Finally I have a chance to sit around and do "nothing"--no cleaning, no tutoring, no softball, no plans!! I'm very excited! I can finally watch my first full hockey game in how long!! The last time I watched was game 3 of the Anaheim-Minnesota series, and because that started so late (and I had other stuff to do as well) I only managed the first couple of minutes of the first period!! So yes, I'm pretty happy to have a break! ^_^
Oh, and I got all my marks back! My English marks, as predicted, were my worst marks, but they weren't as bad as I expected them to be. I thought I'd get around 74 in Romantic Poetry and Prose, and somewhere between 50 and 60 in Major British Writers, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that my respective marks in those courses were 77 and 68. It's not good compared to last year--I definitely didn't make the Dean's List this year--but it's not THAT bad either. It only dropped my GPA by about 0.3, so it's liveable. Besides, school's done, so it's not like I can do anything about it now! I would, however, kind of like to email my TA for Major British Writers to thank him and to ask him how on earth I managed to get such a high mark! I'm fairly certain that I didn't deserve it, and he just gave me more credit than my exam merited. =P Hopefully next year I will do better. Now I'm really wondering if I should've switched to a history major--as my friend put it, I have an easier time conceptualizing in history.
Anyway, feel free to scold me on my spending habits. Not only did I rack up a sizeable credit card bill at Anime North (~$200), I also just renewed my Hockey News subscription and ordered the newest Marmalade Boy cd, so I'm digging an even deeper hole for myself. ^^;; Thank goodness for my tutoring job and for my annual 2% pay increase! =P I keep forgetting just how many regular anime obligations I already have to meet. See, last year I went eBay anime cd crazy, but I didn't buy as many graphic novels or dvds monthly then, so it wasn't a problem. This year I haven't yet fully adjusted my mindset. So yeah, maybe I should stick my credit cards in the freezer for a while! Unfortunately I've got my Visa number memorized, so I can still make online purchases, and since my credit information is stored for Paypal, I can also use that while my cards are frozen. ^^;; Need discipline!!
