"Interesting" Birthday

Well, it started off horribly. As I mentioned in RHF, at about 1am today my Avs lost. I was totally shocked, disappointed and upset. In fact, I'm still pretty depressed about the whole thing. The Leafs lost too (horribly, 6-1), but it was really the Avs loss that hurt.

After a very brief cry (yeah, it's strange how I can actually cry over hockey; I'll never tease the US Women's team for crying over their silver again), I went to bed around 2am. I didn't sleep well at all. Honestly, I was having nightmares about that ugly OT goal, seeing all the bodies piled around the net in front of Roy. Not only that, but I kept hearing the awful pings from all the shots the Avs took during the game that hit the crossbar or post. Even after I woke up the images and sounds were stuck in my head.

Anyway, the day got quite a bit better, but I've gotta go pick up my bro now, so more later!

[Edit: continuing on...]

Well, the morning wasn't totally bad. Before my Avs lost, one of my suitemates came out at around twelve something am to wish me happy birthday and to give me my present. It was a HHOF magnet with my name on it! ^_^ It's funny because she really doesn't know much about hockey, being from Hong Kong, but she knows me well enough to know that it's my passion! So that was really nice.

Then after I came back from tutoring I checked my email and received a beautiful e-card type thing from L. If you're reading this, thanks so much! It almost made me cry again, but from happiness, not sadness over my Avs! <3 ya lots!

I went out for Japanese food with my suitemates, which was really fun. ^_^ Heh, one of my suitemates eats her sushi with just a big hunk of wasabi, so it's really funny to watch her face when she eats it! She closes her eyes and scrunches up her face--most amusing. Most of us got green tea ice cream too, and she even ate that with wasabi!! I've never ever heard of such a thing before in my life! So basically she was our entertainment for the meal. =P

Let's see. I cleaned up my res room (way overdue) and then came back home. Talked to two of my friends, then went to move my brother back home from Waterloo. We had a really late dinner (around 11pm), so I missed a call from another friend, but I got her voice message, which was nice. ^_^ So yeah, it was a pretty good day all around. Man, I would've given up ALL my jerseys AND my Sakic hat if the Avs could've won that game seven against Minnesota though. Geez, it's still so depressing....
