Well, it was $110 CDN, but I don't regret spending that much on the limited edition first disc of .hack//SIGN, with an artbox. I won't say that it was worth it, exactly, because I would rather have paid less and not had a t-shirt, grunty plushy, and postcards, but I was happy enough with the disc itself, the box and the soundtrack that I didn't mind being forced to buy all the extras as well.
There were some complaints about the flimsiness of the box, but I think it's okay. I don't know how practical it will turn out to be for actually holding all the discs, but the hexagonal shape certainly is distinctive, and my box was in fine condition when I got it, so it's not like it was that fragile or anything.
Anyway, I really enjoyed the story thus far, and I can't wait to see what happens next. It's beautifully animated, and I love the music!! Including the soundtrack was a great idea! ^_^ I've already burned a copy of the soundtrack so that I won't wear out the original disc or anything. This one might go right up there with the Escaflowne Movie soundtrack for most listened to. It's great for doing homework to and stuff.
(x_x) Unfortunately, as good as it was, it put a rather significant dent in my bank account, and March, my death month, isn't even anywhere near finished yet. The Noir and Chobits limited edition first discs with artboxes haven't even come in yet, not to mention my usual manga purchases! I got Kare Kano, Fruits Basket and X tv discs last month though, so I think I should be safe from that at least--I hope.
Ah well. I got some HnG discs from my fellow Utarpa members, though, so I'm extremely happy about that! Already I've watched episodes 4-7, and I only have up to 13 right now! The president of Utarpa is a great guy though, and he's already agreed to make me discs for episodes 1-63.

I'm so happy!!! Don't know why, but I never think about asking people from Utarpa for the anime that I want, even though I know that they have it. I guess I don't like to be a bother. Don't want to be thought of as the one who's always asking for stuff, after all. I already feel like I don't do very much as an exec, so the least I can do is not be troublesome as well.
Ah well, think I'll try to squeeze in one more episode of HnG before going off to bed--I've got a Japanese quiz again tomorrow! p(^^)q
