Usually I couldn't care less about Valentine's Day; I don't get excited since I don't have a boyfriend; I don't get bitter or depressed either since I'm happy being single. But this year we had a fellowship program for Valentine's Day.
I'm really glad I went, it was so fun! The girls provided the food,.and the guys provided the entertainment. The boys were amazing! Partway through dinner one of the guys at my table suddenly stood up and starting talking about how he thought in any relationship, guys are the enemy. We were all totally confused. We were asking him what he talking about and everything. Then some other guys got up and started talking too, and it turned out that they were acting out that ultra sappy Jerry Maguire scene: the one where Tom Cruise uses the "you complete me" line. It was extremely well done.
Then after dinner the guys all got together at the front and sang a song for us! Uh, they sang the one that goes "All my life, I prayed for someone like you" etc. They even sang in tune, with a bit of harmony! It was so sweet.
Oh, and before the song they gave out Valentines that they had made for the girls! =*) It was sweet! (Sorry, I'm probably going to overuse that word, "sweet" in this post.) Sweet, and totally amusing too. It's amazing what types of Valentines these guys came up with: "I said hip-hop, a hippy, a hibby to the hip hop and don't stop"; "Veggies are green, tomatoes are red, hurry it up and let's get to bed"; and "you must love me". =Þ Okay, so maybe the last one doesn't sound as funny, but when I read it that song from Evita popped into my head and it was must amusing.
After the Valentines and song, we all played "Honey, I love you, won't you please please smile?" I'm proud to say that I didn't crack when someone tried it on me, although my face was twitching fairly badly. ^_^
All in all it was the best Valentine's Day I've yet experienced, and I think it'd be a hard one to ever top.
Oh, and another great thing was that I got some virtual roses from a friend. ^_^ Thanks so much, L., it really brightened my day!
