Well Kei, I finally got a taste of Hikaru no Go, and I gotta admit, I'm totally hooked! ^_^ Since the Toriyama World site was finally working when I tried it, I was able to download scanlations of volumes 1-18.
I downloaded everything on Thursday night, and I ended up staying up until 4am reading the first two or three volumes. Then on Friday when I was supposed to be catching up on my 20th Century China readings, I made it through to about halfway through volume seven.
It's SO good! I'm putting the HnG manga third on my major purchasing list, right after the Colorado and Toronto jerseys! I wonder what the chances are that someone will license it? Go isn't as big a thing in North America as in Asian countries, although it's getting more popular, I think, so yeah, I don't know if companies would be willing to pick it up. =(
I wanna see the anime too! Time to check out fansub distros again. Hmmm....Maybe that'll be fourth on my purchasing list?
Last thing about HnG, I thought it was incredibly amusing when Hikaru was making fun of Akari for getting Go mixed up with Othello, since right at the beginning of the manga, before they started explaining the game, I had done the same thing! Yup, I confused the two, although I figured out my mistake pretty quickly. =Þ
