Some People Are Just...

I think I've mentioned before that I'm a moderator (a.k.a. Prefect) on a Harry Potter fan site, right? Well anyway, for a long time there wasn't any trouble at all, but then this one girl showed up, and ugh, she has become such a nuisance!

She broke some forum rules, and when we asked her nicely to correct her behaviour, she starting mouthing off and being extremely rude! We (the moderators/Prefects) gave her a whole bunch of warnings, but she didn't stop. Finally we got the forum owner to place her on "disiplinary status" so that she wouldn't be able to post, but somehow she was still able to.

Did I mention that there are about six different forums on the site? She was posting in five of them! Then after we took the disiplinary action, she had the nerve to post (we can't figure out how she managed it when she was supposed to be banned from posting), again in five of the boards, that she was sorry for the misunderstanding, but she had been in the hospital for the past month because of a car accident! Considering that her writing style didn't change at all, that claim was already highly suspicious, but when other moderators started to question her excuse, she started changing her reasons! She said someone hacked into her email account, and that a friend who didn't have email borrowed her account. Yeesh. How dumb can you get? If you're going to lie, at least pick a plausible one, and don't keep changing it, because it really doesn't do anything for your credibility when you keep changing your excuse!!

Sorry, stupidity irritates me a lot. Anyway, after this experience I think I have a lot more sympathy for law makers and enforcers. In the world there are people who simply disturb the peace of others refuse to abide by rules, and everyone else just has to do their best to deal with it.
