Ending with a Bang

Well, New Years Eve was just as busy for me as Christmas Eve, which is why I didn't post. That and I'm lazy. ^^;; Anyway, I woke up really late New Years Eve, like 2pm, and I went out with my brother and his friend to Burger King for lunch around 3pm. After that we went to Pacific Mall. I didn't buy anything, but my bro bought five Chinese cds. @_@

Then it was back to Mississauga to meet at a friend's house before going to Korean BBQ in Richmond Hill. Oh, and while I was at my friend's house, he gave me my Christmas present: a Leafs away jersey!!! =D It's great! I haven't decided when I'm going to personalize it (Kaberle!!) yet, but I will probably get it done before I go to see the Carolina game. I'm not just saving it for special occasions either; I like to wear it around the house when I'm just lazing about because I feel so happy wearing it. ^_^ But I digress.

Nine of us went to Korean BBQ, and boy did we ever eat a lot! We were split into two tables and the other table had four guys and one girl, so they ate a lot more than us. They just threw on all the meat without any sort of system. At one point they had this huge flame licking up on the side of their grill. And they got so much stuff charred onto their grill that they had to get theirs replaced! Long after our table (three girls, one guy) had finished eating, they ordered another two plates of beef, so they had three full plates of beef to finish! Again, they just dumped the meat on, and when it was done, they each took this huge wad of beef! It was kind of funny and gross at the same time. My friend took a picture of one of the guys holding this big chunk of beef in his chopsticks, over the grill. I swear they must've had a whole cow between the five of them!

Then five of us went back to my friend's place (the same friend whose house we met at) and we played some pool and NHL 2002. We nearly forgot about the countdown, we were having so much fun. =Þ What we did forget, though, was the drinks. So we watched the ball drop at Time Square, but we didn't have anything to toast the New Year with! After that we went upstairs to make some punch (a bit late, huh?) and we also had some apple pie and ice cream--yummy! I guess playing all that NHL helped to work off the cow or something...

We watched some show about crazy drivers and then played NHL 2002 until 4am! I think all my friends are slowly but surely getting hooked onto NHL thanks to my PS2. =Þ

New Years day was fun too. During the day I finally finished off discs four and five of Love Hina, along with the Love Hina Christmas Special. My parents went out shopping and came back with twenty packs of McDonald's hockey cards, so we had fun opening those. That night I was supposed to go out with a friend to watch Star Trek: Nemesis, but he got sick so we had to cancel. Instead I went out for dinner with my parents, and when we came home my parents, brother and I all played mah jong, while listening to my bro's new Chinese cds. I was slaughtered. We start off with two hundred dollars worth in chips (we don't play for real money, though), and I ended up with seventy something only! It was hard though, because we had a two point minimum so I couldn't make small, and when I tried to make really big my luck was horrible! I only managed to win big once, and then I won another time or two with the minimum number of points. ^^;; Ah well, I figured that I had used up a year's supply of MJ luck on Christmas Eve anyway.

Then tonight I'm going to see the Nutcracker, and tomorrow I have a lunch potluck combined with a short term missions trip meeting as well as a dinner with family friends whom we only see like once a year. Lots of fun! Too bad I still haven't done my homework. @_@ I have to finish reading Emma, Rousseau's Confessions, and I have to memorize a whole bunch of Japanese verbs! In fact, I think I need to do a massive Japanese review because I've forgotten everything by neglecting my studies for three whole weeks! ^^;;
