Wishlists and More

I make wishlists--not to be confused with the various versions of "the list" that I've made--all the time, but unfortunately they're not all that helpful come Christmas (when my friends ask me what I want) because they're usually composed of all the things that I'm waiting to buy because they're expensive! =Þ Here's some of the stuff in my longstanding wishlist right now:

-Rurouni Kenshin manga: 28 vol. (complete) $140 US/set or $7.50 CDN/ea
-Hana Yori Dango manga: 30 vol. (incomplete) $160 US
-Legend of Basara manga: 27 vol. (complete) $145 US/set
-Houshin Engi manga: 23 vol. (complete) $120 US/set
-Final Fantasy X Soundtrack: 4 discs $37.95 US
-l33t Megatokyo stuff like an Evil Minion Miho T-shirt, $14.99 US; a Baka^ni T-shirt, $14.99 US; or the new Megatokyo blanket, $39.99 US
-Colorado Avalanche Authentic Jersey, customized (Sakic, 19, C) $299.90 CDN
-Toronto Maple Leafs Semi-Pro Replica Jersey, customized (Kaberle, 15, A) $149.90 CDN

Crazy, isn't it? I sincerely doubt that I'll ever get around to actually buying anything on this list!

I have other wishlists with less expensive stuff, of course, but most of that I've already bought or am going to buy for myself, since I can afford it! =Þ So when it comes to making wishlists of stuff for other people to buy for me (and therefore in the $10-$20 range) I'm always stuck! The only stuff that isn't expensive that I can think of to ask for is earmuffs and those cheap thin black gloves (I wear them under my "hobo" mittens). I guess it's good that I don't spend too much time thinking about stuff I want people to buy for me, but it probably makes things a bit more difficult for people trying to think of what to get me come Christmas, birthdays, etc. You'd think it'd be easy, considering that people can buy me anything anime or hockey related and I'd be ecstatic, but apparently people have quite a bit of trouble thinking of what to get me. ::shrugs::

Well, enough of that! Christmas isn't about getting presents anyway!

I don't think I mentioned it before, but I watched the Fushigi Yuugi Eikoden on Sunday before I came back to res. What to say? I think that ever since the original series, each FY series has gotten stranger and stranger. The plot wasn't particularly impressive, and I don't know how much of that is because of the actual premise, and how much is due to the short length of the series (i.e., they didn't have time to develop the plot properly). On the plus side, the pencil boards that came with it are beautiful!

In other anime news, the master tape for the fansub that I helped sponsor is here! ^_^ I feel like a real otaku now, sponsoring a fansub! I'm going to have to pass it off to the president of Utarpa to make a VHS copy for me though, since we requested an SVHS master. We thought that since it would be for Utarpa, we should get the higher quality SVHS master instead of a VHS master. But yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing my name in the credits! ^_~
