It's probably bad of me, I know, but while it's okay for a friend and I to be talking and making comments to each other while watching the LotR Special Edition, it is not okay when "the parents" come in and start chattering away. Yeesh. I mean, in my, our, own defense, at least we discuss the changes/additions to the movie, and don't ask questions like "Does he die?" or "Who is he?"--especially after chattering about other stuff and totally not paying attention. ::rolls eyes::
Yup, definitely the next time I watch a movie, it won't be with parents around. I'm being hypersensitive, I admit it, but I find it extremely irritating to listen to tsk-ing sounds and ahs and "it's so scary"-s when I'm trying to get into a movie. Sure I might wince or jump a bit when things scare or shock me, but I generally don't make noises (apart from the occasional rustle from shifting positions) when I'm watching movies. >( Actually, I don't think that's just a parent thing. It irritates me when anyone cheers or screams or does anything other than laugh in appropriate places in theatres. An occasional very soft whisper I can handle, but definitely not any repeated noises, like the aforementioned "tsks".
Anyway, I've now spent 12.5 hours of my life on the Fellowship of the Ring alone. =Þ It was interesting (for lack of a better word) to see some of the extra scenes, but I think I'd still prefer the theatrical version overall--even though Legolas got to show off his poetic skills more in some of the added scenes. ^_~ Ah...Can't wait for December to come!
