Well, I cooked today! For those who don't know me, allow me to explain: I am the person who survived first year only because of canned and frozen food, and Lipton's Sidekicks! The most cooking that I did last year involved boiling water for pasta, and heating up canned soup or tomato sauce to top it off; I didn't even add mushrooms, or meat or anything! Yeah, it was THAT sad.
Anyway, I cooked today, and it wasn't much more than boiling water and heating soup, but at least I added some flavourings and cooked some chicken to make it more interesting. It was actually a recipe that I got from my brother: pasta with cream of mushroom soup--just add garlic powder, soya sauce, and chicken, and voilà!
Oh, and I learned that I haven't a clue how to cook meat (I never did it last year, remember?). I mean, I've done bacon at camps and stuff, and I've used the Foreman Grill at home, but other than that...At any rate, I was really paranoid about undercooking the chicken, so it ended up pretty dry and overcooked. ^^;; Luckily the sauce softened it up a bit, but I still wouldn't exactly rush to share it with my suitemates, even though I have two mediumish Ziploc containers full of leftovers. ::sigh:: I'm so unskilled. Who knows what I'm going to do for food when I'm completely on my own. At least right now I can go home for good meals on weekends, and sometimes my suitemates offer me their food, but I won't even have that when I'm totally on my own! ::shrugs:: Oh well, that's in the future, no need to worry now!
