EVIL Anime Companies!

ARGH!! I really want to knock some heads right now, specifically the heads of the people in charge of Anime Works. Grrrrrrrrrrrr... You see, last night, a fellow Utarpa exec told me that the bloody company has now decided to release Rurouni Kenshin in three boxsets. ::murderous glint in eyes:: BUT I specifically emailed and asked, when the discs were first being released, if there were any plans for the series to be released as boxsets in the future, and the answer that I received was an unequivocal no.

Sons of unwed mothers! Sons of unwed mothers!! (Here's a question, does it count as swearing if your intention is the same, even if the words are different? Like the technical description of the swear words? "Oh manure" for example?) I would've waited forever if I had had any indication that they were going to release boxes, but no, I wait for YEARS, then finally cave in and start buying discs, and what happens? They decide to release boxes! Evil, pure evil I tell you! >( They had better sell empty boxes individually, or someone is going to organize all the fans who faithfully collected each individual disc to lynch them! Seriously, I don't understand these companies. The people who buy every disc individually are the people who give them the most money, yet the people who wait and wait and don't spend their money are rewarded with pretty boxes and lower prices! I think that companies that release boxsets should issue empty boxes to people who can provide proof that they've already purchased the entire for free! And they should definitely never include a bonus disc available with a boxset (as was the case with "Here and There, Then and Now") either. OR, if companies were really smart, they would continue this first disc with empty box trend that's started, include a bonus something for preorderers, and not release later boxes at all. Apparently that's what they do in Japan.

But don't mind me, this is all just me releasing steam, because normally I would never advocate companies forcing customers to spend more money. =P I'm just frustrated because it always seems like I wait and wait until I deem a situation hopeless, cave in, and then find out htat I should've waited longer! Seriously, I should post it everywhere when I buy something, so that people can know that in month or two the price will be dramatically reduced or something. I was born under an unlucky shopping star, or somesuch nonsense. That's why I really wouldn't be surprised if sometime in 2003 a company will announce that they've picked up the rights to Kodocha; it's just the kind of luck that I have. =/
