Well, as of last night, I have now seen the entire Evangelion series, along with "Death and Rebirth," and "The End of Evangelion." It's been a while, but as I recall, the original tv series' ending was nigh incomprehensible. "End of Evanglion," on the other hand, was far more understandable, and the areas that weren't (understandable) tended to be details, rather than big important chunks of plot. "Death and Rebirth" was pretty much a waste of money.
The first part, "Rebirth," was basically a recap of the entire tv series, just rearranged in a rather strange manner. "Death" was just the beginning part of "End of Evangelion." So, considering that I have the tv series boxset, as well as "End of Evangelion," that means that I spent twenty something bucks on stuff zero new content. Argh. I suppose if I was really interested in Amanda Win Lee's commentary, or any of the other features, it wouldn't be so bad, but I'm not really (interested) so I feel quite disappointed.
In other news, I finally got volumes 1 and 2 of the "Wish" graphic novel, by Clamp, yesterday, and it's great!! One of the characters (the male protagonist's grandfather) actually comes from Canada!! Isn't that cool? I love it when media (books, anime, manga, etc.) that isn't made by Canadians mention Canada--mostly because it doesn't happen all that often. Other than "Wish," the only Canada reference I can recall in anime/manga is in "Hana Yori Dango," when...

...Doumyouji accidentally gets on a plane to Vancouver, instead of New York. I thought that was a rather clever and original plot twist, since a lot of protagonists in shoujo end up going to New York, often as a result of some sort of heartache or something.
