I don't know if it's been officially deemed a heat wave (three of more consecutive days with temperatures of 32°C, not including humidity) yet, but it sure is hot here! Bleah. You walk outside and feel smothered by the air. Thank goodness the smog alert, at least, was lifted today.
It's strange, but despite the density of the air, and the oppressiveness of the heat, people still go outside to smoke. You'd think they'd have a hard enough time breathing outside without adding their cigarette smoke to the mix, wouldn't you?
Right now I'm also very thankful that I don't live in Toronto, where the inside workers are striking--no garbage has been collected for the past week or so, parks, etc. are shut down. I wouldn't walk through Chinatown right now for anything. Ick. Naturally, the heat is making things a lot worse. Hopefully the government will take action, because all that garbage, in this weather, is a major health hazard. Really, the union isn't gaining any supporters by striking right now. Although, I guess they don't really care about public opinion.
Not much else to say right now. Guess the heat is affecting my thought processes (a convenient excuse, considering that I'm in a comfortably air-conditioned room right now, and have been most of the day). =Þ
