*sigh* Seems like I always miss at least one post on the weekend. Wonder if I should just change my description to say "Weekday random thoughts, etc. etc."? Then again, that would defeat the idea of blogging as a discipline. I mean, if I change my update schedule because I find it hard to write on weekends, then what'll happen if/when I start finding it difficult to write on weekdays as well? Would that mean I could just change to a sporadic blogging schedule? Hmm.... Guess I'll just have to work harder on posting on weekends!
Speaking of which, next weekend is Anime North so I probably won't have get a chance to update on Fri. and Sat. (Sun. the con will end fairly early, so it shouldn't be a problem). It's going to be cool! I'm a staffer, so I get to go for free! ^_^ Woohoo! Anyone else going? This year I'm going to bring a camera, and loads of film, especially since I know that two different groups of people from my church will be cosplaying. Mwa ha ha! Blackmail pictures! ^_~ (/jks)
On a totally unrelated topic, I finally watched Star Wars Episode 1 last night. -_-; I don't think it would take a lot for Episode 2 to be a lot better. I mean, the dialogue stank, and the plot was so...contrived. Oh, and that battle with Darth Maul was pretty lacklustre too, which is sad, because I'm a big action fan. It's funny, but the movies that I watch in the theatres tend to be either sci-fi or action, rarely drama or "chick flicks." But I digress. Watching The Phantom Menace made me want to see the original trilogy again, to restore my faith in Star Wars or something, I guess. I've heard mixed reviews about Attack of the Clones so I'm not really expecting much of it, but, like I said, it really wouldn't take a lot to be better than The Phantom Menance. I don't think I'd be able to sit through that ever again. Bleah. XP
To completely switch subjects--again--my parents bought me the Eva Perfect Collection boxset yesterday, as a reward for doing well in my first year of U. ^_^ They also paid for my X/1999: Rhapsody, and Love Hina #1 graphic novels. So I guess I'm well anime-d for this weekend (yes, anime has just become a verb =Þ). It's been a while since I last watched Eva, so maybe I'll start on the series after the hockey game. Maple Leafs @ North Carolina--go Leafs go!! I love Canada, and I'm totally loyal to the Leafs, but I honestly don't think they'll win the Cup. If, however, they do, all I can say is that Roots is going to do extremely well this year. ^_~ I mean, I've got a Gold Medal Olympic hoody from Roots already, and if the Leafs won, I'd probably go out and buy some Leafs related gear from Roots too, which is pretty amazing for me, considering that I very rarely buy clothes, and almost never buy clothing over $30. Roots is awesome, but it's too expensive for my tastes. Between clothing and anime, anime'd win every time. But I'd buy two articles of clothing from Roots, in two months, no less, to show my Canadian pride, you bet I would.
So, that's it for my ramblings today! To any fellow Canadians out there, enjoy the long weekend!
