My room is a mess. -_-; I started to "clean" it last night, and I still haven't finished yet. It's actually not so much cleaning as moving things around. Almost all of the stuff that was in my closet is now in the empty room next to mine. The only thing I really accomplished was I made a rather large pile of stuff to throw away.
I don't know for sure, but I suspect that university has made me a bit better about throwing things away--don't know how either. For example, the last time I cleaned my closet (sometime mid-highschool) I was like "oh, I still need to keep this grade four French workbook." =P Now who really needs to keep a grade four French workbook? At any rate, yesterday, not only did I throw out my elementary schoolwork, I even threw out fairly recent, only two or three years old, highschool stuff, like my grade ten science ISU notes. When would I ever need statistics on the number and types of trees in the school woodlot? It's ridiculous how much stuff you keep thinking that you might need it someday.
Then my (former) suitemate called and she was cleaning up her stuff, getting ready to move out of the suite into another one for the summer (she's taking summer school - ugh). She was like, "I don't know if I should recycle these books or not," and naturally I told her to just do it. The benefit of being in res is that there's always someone who'll have the information if you actually do need it later, so you don't have to keep everything. ^_~
So yes, I'm starting to learn how to curb my packrat tendencies, if not very much. I still have a bag of plastic bags that I "intend" to use as garbage bags, but we'll see about that.
Oh, something interesting that I accomplished today was I made some rough sketches for a bunch of four panel comics. They're actually not too bad, if I do say so myself. Of course, they're all based on true res life stories, so maybe they'll only seem funny to me because I've actually experienced them, if you know what I mean. Regardless, I was thrilled to actually be able to come up with some ideas! I thinking in four panels; it was amazing. Seriously, I read more than 70 webcomics, and I've always wanted to be able to start my own, but I could never think up storylines for even one comic, so it made me really happy to be able to come up with ideas for six, just this morning. I still don't think I'll ever have my own webcomic--not enough ideas on a regular basis--but I'm glad that I can at least try to make a couple. Maybe I'll be able to put them in my college's newspaper...except that the stories are so true that people might be able to recognize themselves or others in them, and that'd probably not be good. =Þ
Whelp, that's it for me today! I had a big steak dinner (8 oz filet mignon--yummy!), plus dessert, so all the blood is currently rushing from my brain to my stomach to help digest. It's the "'itis." ^_~
LAST THING: Please leave some comments on my Be Silent No More! chatterbox! =*( I'm feeling very unloved! (jks)
