The Funniest Goalie Ever ^_~

Man, Patrick Roy, he just makes me laugh, sometimes. Of course, while I'm laughing I'm also smacking myself on the forehead, in frustration, to some extent because I am cheering for the Avs, especially now that the Leafs have been knocked out. Anyway, the point is, Roy's little blooper today will probably go down cheerfully in hockey history, or perhaps infamy, depending on whether or not the Avs win tomorrow night.

I mean, leaving the net open and holding a glove high to show off a puck that isn't there is certainly never a good thing, and it's especially not a good thing when the opposing team is there, ready to score a goal. ^^;; No matter, I still admire Roy a great deal. I mean, his later save just showed his measure, when he made a save and showed the puck to Shanahan--and this time it was really there! For someone who's struggled a lot with self-confidence issues, it's amazing to see a guy who's so confident in his abilities that he won't let even an embarrassing mistake like that get him down. I can't wait to see Friday's game; I know Roy's going to be at his best, and I really hope that the Avs will win!

Since there's no game tomorrow, I'm going to take the opportunity to go shopping! Wonder if it's a coincidence that I'm going to get paid tomorrow too? =Þ Of course, the lack of a hockey game isn't going to put a dent in my hockey mania, since I'm going to be at Roots, Sport Chek, etc. looking at hockey jerseys! I think I want to eventually get both a Leafs and an Avalance away jersey. Guess it's a sign of my lack of experience with hockey, but I've only just noticed that home team jerseys are predominantly white, while away jerseys are darker/more colourful. Actually, I probably wouldn't even have noticed if someone didn't mention to me, in response to a comment of mine about not really liking the whiteness of the Leafs' jersey, that the away jersey was blue, rather than white. So that's why it struck me when I was watching the Colorado-Detroit game tonight that the Avs also have white home and dark away jerseys. Pretty neat. Now I'll know how to tell which team is home, and which is away!! (Yes, it's the little things that make me happy. ^_^)

Despite the fact that my blogs of late have been practically all about hockey, I have been doing other things as well. For example, while I'm watching hockey, I also bring a book down with me to read during the commercial and period breaks. This week I've gone through Jayne Ann Krentz's "Smoke in Mirrors," Nora Roberts' "Midnight Bayou," and "Hemlock Bay" by Catherine Coulter. Now all I've got left in my reading pile are hockey books, and that' just fine by me. ^_^ When I'm interested in something, I really get into it, and I want to learn all about it. It's great that one of my passions can cross over into so many of my other interests. I read manga, I read about anime and manga, and now I'm able to read about hockey. Okay, so that's not exactly a huge number of "other interests," but my list of hobbies would be a lot smaller if I couldn't get reading to crossover into pretty much everything else.

Anyway, my computer's been on ever since I came home, making my room extremely warm. Since I really can't sleep when it's too hot, I'm going to have to shut the computer down and hopefully allow my room to cool down before I go to bed. =Þ Night all! Let's go Avalanche!!!
