I'd like to start off with an apology for my highly irregular, almost downright sporadic updating schedule of late. Despite the fact that this is supposed to be my exam study break, I've actually been extremely busy, going out all over the place. I was working two days last week, I was doing volunteer stuff all Thursday, and I was visiting a friend in Hamilton this weekend. So, even though it's not an excuse, I was busy, and not just slacking off.
Anyway, this morning I learned that you should always shake out your clothes before you put them on. I was getting dressed and as I held out my pants, in preparation of putting them on, I looked at the cuff of one leg and saw what I thought was some hair dangling off the end. So I shook and kind of dragged my pants along the floor until the "hair" came off. Then I looked closer and saw that the "hair" was actually a SPIDER! XP Icky. Of course, my policy is that any bug can live as long as I don't see it, so the thing was squished very rapidly indeed, and I was most grateful that I had looked down before putting my pants on. It would have been really icky to have had that spider crawling up my leg. @_@
Another thing I learned was that there is such a thing as too much kindness. Today, for example, I was being kind when I agreed to be a practice subject for someone working at a salon in the mall, and that was not the best thing. I mean, I think I was in there for over an hour just to get an inch or so chopped off my already short hair. Plus, I asked the woman if she could give me a side part, which the friend who had cut my hair short in the first place had done, rather than using my natural centre part, and she was like, "no, I have to use the centre." Sheesh, talk about not doing me any favours. I'm just glad that her trainer or whatever person was around because otherwise I would've had something like a bowl cut since she didn't know how to do front layers and thus didn't give me any. Really, without front layers, short hair is pretty shapeless and unflattering. At any rate, I ended up messing up the layers anyway when I came home and redid my side part. Now there are layers on one side, and not the other, but with the layerless side, I usually keep it tucked behind my ear anyway, so it's not such a big deal.
So, yes, I've learned a lot today, but unlike in school, the learning experiences haven't exactly left me feeling "enlightened" or happy. =P Guess it was just one of those Mondays...
