I found out through MegaTokyo that Bioware is going to start selecting people for beta testing of Neverwinter Nights at the end of April and beginning of May. ^_^ You can register for beta testing at Betatests.Net. I did.
Actually, it's highly strange that I'm so hopeful about being selected for the testing, considering that I'm not much of a gamer. Sad to say, but on the registration form that I filled out, the only computer games that I could list as games that I play were Bust-A-Move 4 (a.k.a. Bubble Bauble), the Sims and Freecell (does that even really count?!). ^^;; Despite the fact that I'm always interested in keeping up with the games that are coming out, I'm about as non-gamer as a person can get.
Still, maybe that'll work in my favour? The press release did say that "Neverwinter Nights will appeal to all types of gamers. This limited beta test will allow selected gamers, of every type and interest, an opportunity to find out why Neverwinter Nights is a ‘must own’ addition to every gamer’s collection." As I mentioned in my registration form, I believe that I definitely fit the "all types of gamers" category. =Þ
Who knows, maybe if I get the chance to be a beta tester I might start getting into games for real, like actually playing them rather than just reading about them in Penny Arcade. Then again, that would also be a very bad thing, considering that I don't have enough time for all my interests as it is right now, and adding a hardcore gaming addiction would definitely kill me in terms of time management. Ah well, these are just castles in the sky until April 29th-early May, when I find out whether or not I've been accepted as a tester. =Þ Wish me luck!
