I don't remember when, why or how I first started reading online comics, but I do know that since I began, I haven't stopped. Every week I check approximately 50 comics, some two or three times a day, some daily. The more I read, the more I find, and the more my respect for webcomic artists as a breed grows.
Their dedication to their art and readers astounds and humbles me. They have chosen to take on the responsibilities and difficulties of maintaining an online comic on top of their everyday and school or work life. It's like full-time job, but one that more likely costs than pays--not to mention the added frustration of dealing with inconsiderate readers who constantly complain or demand more. Oh, surely they receive praise and graditude, but probably less frequently or quickly than the criticisms. Yet they continue.
So why am I writing this? To remind myself. To remind myself to say "thank you" more often. So, THANK YOU to the 50+ artists who provide me with so much entertainment and mental stimulation every week. You guys are totally awesome in the fullest sense of the word. Thanks.
